Alliance Online Membership Application
Culminis is a network of Technology related user groups and associations
that provides a variety of benefits to our membership. Culminis members are
user groups, not individuals. We currently have Member Organizations worldwide
and are focused on building community and helping these organizations succeed
and prosper.

Member’s Benefits
The benefits listed below are a sample of the benefits provided to our
Member Organizations. These may vary by region and will occasionally change as
we adapt to our member organization’s needs.
Communications

Culminis Connections (Leader’s Section):

A private website for Culminis group leaders that highlights upcoming IT
events, provides information on growing a group and obtaining sponsors, and a
description of all the current Culminis programs and benefits. Access
credentials are provided when the membership application has been approved.

Leader Update:

Highlighting current and planned Culminis programs and benefits, is
emailed to User Group Leaders each month.

Community Center of Excellence highlights:

Culminis Community Server Web site

The IT Hero Program is where extraordinary individual achievements are
recognized.

The Culminis Cares Program demonstrates how IT groups can “make a difference”
in the communities in which they live.

Association headquarters that join Culminis help organize how information flows
to their Chapters.
Core Benefits

A fully hosted SharePoint site for your group (public and/or private) is
offered free. It is fully customizable by the User Group and includes, if
requested, access to other Culminis Product Specific Support Networks.

Welcome Kits and annual Renewal Kits, which include the Culminis Leader Guide
and various other materials, are sent to the leaders of every Member
Organizations for use by the Group. Event Kits, which may include software or
giveaways, for unique Groups events or special occasions can also be requested.

Culminis offers special discounts and accessibility to events that our Sponsors
provide. In the past these have included TechNet event discounts, event tables,
and subscriptions as well as leader discounts to TechEd events.

Occasional discounts on a variety of other products and services are offered
from time to time.

Each Culminis member organization is assigned a Community Manager (CM) based on
geography. The CM will be the primary, but may not be the only, Culminis point
of contact for the User Group.
Programs

New product Launch Programs are offered which provide presentation materials
and sample not-for-resale software for new Microsoft products. Recent examples
were SQL Server and Windows Server 2003 R2. Notices are sent to all
Leaders, to request their participation.

Academic Programs are offered in collaboration with Microsoft to allow Member
Organizations and their members to participate in programs and events that
provide guidance, advice and mentorship to students and faculty in colleges
around the world.

Periodic Online Surveys are offered to leaders and members. This helps keep
Culminis and our sponsors focused on what is important to our membership.
Membership Requirements
All candidate Member Organizations must:

Be an organized group of people focused primarily on discussing IT
issues with 10 or more registered members.

Be non-discriminatory in membership acceptance or leadership. (Do not restrict
membership based on sex, race, religion, or ethnic/national origin).

Complete and submit the Culminis Membership Agreement below.

Be approved for membership by the President of Culminis.
